Dr. Kayla Thamert is a naturopathic physician licensed in the state of Oregon. She graduated with honors from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, Oregon earning her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and completed a post-graduate residency in Family and Naturopathic Medicine at NUNM Health Centers. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Thamert earned her Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Oregon State University.
In her holistic practice, Dr. Thamert focuses on integrative and preventative care aimed at optimizing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health throughout the lifespan. She is adept at diagnosing and treating acute complaints, managing complex chronic conditions, and supporting mental health (including addiction and substance use disorders). She believes in working with the power of nature to support the body’s innate ability to heal and bring itself back into balance. Depending on the specific needs of the individual, she utilizes everything from lifestyle modifications improving things like diet, physical activity, and sleep, to gentle treatments such as hydrotherapy, homeopathy, and bio-therapeutic drainage (a French/Belgian form of homeopathy often referred to as UNDA Numbers), to botanical (herbal) medicine and dietary supplements, all the way to higher level interventions like IV therapy and pharmaceutical drugs.
Passionate about educating and empowering patients to take charge of their own health, Dr. Thamert recognizes the importance of meeting people where they’re at. She enjoys working alongside patients, helping to identify their unique wellness goals and problem solve obstacles, ultimately co-creating feasible treatment plans that set them up for success. She values a doctor-patient relationship built on trust and collaboration and strives to create and uphold a safe and judgement-free healing space to provide high quality, compassionate care for all.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Thamert enjoys spending time with her partner and family, especially her brand-new grandson and nieces and nephews. She loves exploring the great outdoors, going to concerts, weight training, dancing (shuffle and cutting shapes is her new obsession), running, crafting, and hugging all the cats, especially her feline housemates Grim and Hexi.
